These incidental poems are produced by crossing the wires between spoken and written language. When read allowed, each poem phonetically spells a word, forcing a dissociation between seeing and listening. Composition in U pushes the logic to an absurd extreme, by beginning with the single letter “U,” the game is as follows: the letter U must be spelled out as it is pronounced "YOU." Following that, the word YOU must be spelled out letter by letter (Y-O-U), producing: "WHY OH YOU." Next comes: "DOUBLE-YOU ATCH WHY OH ATCH WHY OH YOU." Etcetera... The game escalates at an exponential rate, each section always finishing with what seems to be the eternal question: "Why, oh you?"
